On Monday 10th of October we had a visit from Bill and Jill who set up Wendy's Wish with their daughter to raise awareness and to raise as much money as possible for eye cancer research. Wendy sadly passed away from ocular melanoma but Bill and Jill kept Wendy's Wish going as Wendy would have wanted. When they lost Wendy they wanted to keep raising money for research and awareness due to it being a lesser known cancer.
Wendy's Wish collect old clothing, rugs, curtains etc and recycle it which raises money and there is a mutual support between Wendy's Wish and LOORG.
Bill and Jill came to Liverpool to visit us in LOORG. They were able to meet the team and they also met Ian who does the collections and deliveries of the clothes.
After lunch they were invited to have a tour of the labs which they found very interesting, and Dr Karen Aughton was able to answer any questions they had. After our tour they then went over to the new Royal hospital and got a tour over there.
It was lovely to meet Bill and Jill and we hope to see them again as they are welcome back any time here at LOORG.
