On Monday 20th May, 2013, the Liverpool Ocular Oncology Research Group took part in OcuMelUK's Eye Patch Day, to raise awareness about eye cancer in the community.
OcuMelUK is a national charity representing people suffering with ocular (uveal) melanoma. They aim to support patients and their families by providing accurate, up-to-date information and emotional support via our website and helpline.
The LOORG therefore held a cake sale in the Royal Liverpool Hospital to raise vital funds for the charity. It was also an excellent opportunity to talk to staff and visitors about the rarity of eye cancer, whilst raising the profile of the disease.
