Multiplex Ligation Dependent Probe Amplification - P027-C1 Uveal Melanoma MLPA probemix (MRC Holland)
.Multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) is a multiplex PCR-based technique that detects changes in the copy number of genes.
Indication
The P027-C1 Uveal Melanoma MLPA probemix contains 38 probes on chromosomes 1p, 3, 6 and 8. In addition, it contains 12 reference probes detecting sequences in autosomal chromosome regions that are relatively quiet in uveal melanoma. This probemix is designed to detect deletions/duplications of one or more sequences in the above mentioned chromosomal regions in a DNA sample. Loss of regions on chromosome 3 and polysomy 8q are associated with a poor prognosis in uveal melanoma patients.

Test Parameters
Detects copy number variation in genomic sequences located on chromosomes 1p, 3, 6 and 8
Sample Requirements
Fresh frozen or formalin fixed paraffin embedded uveal melanoma material with the corresponding haematoxylin
and eosin stained slide from the P0 block. This procedure requires at least 100ng DNA at a concentration of 20ng/µl.
