Congratulations to our PhD students, Josh Hattersley and Max Jackson on the publication of their first papers!

8/11/2024

Josh's paper -
Revealing the structural microenvironment of high metastatic risk uveal melanomas following decellularisation.
This study identifies UM metastatic risk specific ECM proteins by developing methodology for decellularisation of low- and high- metastatic risk tissue samples (LR-D3 vs. HR-M3).

Max's paper -
"Differentiating Choroidal Melanomas and Nevi using a self-supervised deep learning model applied to clinical fundoscopy images."

Purpose of the research is to test the validity of a self-supervised deep learning model, RETFound1, for use on posterior uveal (choroidal) melanoma (UM) and nevus differentiation.
